My perspective on digitalisation and change comes from care practice – combined with a genuine enthusiasm for technology.
I have worked in care since 2002. I began as a community service volunteer in nursing, then worked as an elderly-care assistant and completed my training as a qualified geriatric nurse. I have worked at Haus Curanum Karlsfeld since 2013 – initially in direct care, later as a residential-unit manager and now in quality management.
In the Pflege 2030 model project, I supported the introduction of new technologies and new ways of working during ongoing care operations. As the facility’s fixed interface, I connected care practice with technology, infrastructure and system integration. I enjoy getting to grips with digital systems and technical relationships – but what matters most is whether a solution is understandable, works in everyday practice and provides meaningful support for staff.
How can staffing, new forms of work organisation and digital support be brought together during ongoing care operations?
Pflege 2030 (German for “Care 2030”) was a 42-month model project at Korian Haus Karlsfeld. Under real-life conditions, the project introduced and tested new roles and workflows, staffing aligned with the PeBeM staffing assessment procedure, and digital and technical solutions.
The work followed four phases – from analysis and concept development through implementation and practical application to evaluation. Staff members were involved in selecting, testing and assessing the changes.
